Completely remove Steam from my computer?
location:
7forums.com - date:
October 7, 2012
Steam recently messed up on me last week. Now, I have to wait around five minutes to log in. If I click on anything while logging in, Steam will crash. The same thing happens while launching a game. I've looked all over and have found several ways to fix it, but none of them work.
People tell me "Well don't click on anything and it wont crash and you'll be able to log in or play your game." That isn't the case. It never did that before, there is no reason it should do it now.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Steam, that did not fix the problem. I know most of the time when you uninstall something, it doesn't completely get rid of every file that it created or it installed. Most of the time, it just gets rid of the f

How can I use Remote Desktop to control my home PC from my Surface?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 16, 2013
I've tried looking up an answer, but all the "tutorials" are non-specific in the one area I don't understand.
What I want to do is be able to use my Microsoft Surface tablet from anywhere I have internet, and use it to control my Windows 8 PC. That does seem to be the purpose of the Remote Desktop app, correct? Now, I have enabled Remote desktop connections in the
system settings, and have the app installed on my surface, and they are both using the same Live ID, but the next step listed is just 'Type the computer's name or IP address' and none of those tutorials explain how I know exactly what either of those things
is. I've tried entering the name I gave the computer, which was also listed on the window that I got to the Remo

Permission denied to access/copy files from my old computer
location:
7forums.com - date:
January 4, 2012
I built a new desktop and did a clean Windows 7 64-bit install. I hooked up the hard drive from my old PC, which had XP on it, so I could copy all the files over to my new hard drive. But when I try, I keep getting errors that I don't have permission to access the file or copy the file. I was trying to do it for specific folders, but then I still needed to go through the process to ask for permission for each individual file inside the folder! So I changed the security settings for the entire drive by right clicking E:/, going to security and changing the permission for "Everyone" and checked the box "full control," which then checks all the boxes. And yet, when I try to copy folders from my old My Documents,

How do I manually remove Ubuntu from my Windows 8 PC?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
February 18, 2013
Recently I briefly toyed around with Ubuntu 12.04 for a little, and after navigating my way through multiple errors I eventually found that I was unable to launch Windows as it a file missing or something along those lines. I then refreshed Windows followed
by successfully removing the "Grub Loader", however I'm now finding myself unable to remove "Ubuntu" from the list of operating systems that display upon startup. I have no programs in my Programs and Features list as a result of the refresh and have so far
had no luck finding a successful method at removing Ubunto elsewhere.
Could someone give me preferably simple directions (As I'm not too familiar with some of the more complicated aspects of Windows) as to how I would manually
