Cannot see any wifi networks

I've been using my HP Pavilion DV6-2113SA for a long time, connecting with a LAN cable. I now need to use wireless but the HP doesn't see any wifi networks at all, let alone the one from my Brightbox router. I have wifi turned on and rebooted but Brightbox is only shown when cabled. there is nothing shown except my T-Mobile dongle (disconnected).
I went into the router and SSID is enabled. The problem must be that NO networks are being shown at all. I know there about a dozen in this area as I can see them on my Asus Transformer and my wife also sees them in her netbook. I have tried updating drivers for wifi but it seems I already have the latest.
Any help would be great please!

Cannot see any wireless networks.

Hi guys, Here's the issue.
I have an edimax 7800n router and it works flawlessly with my laptops (one with 7 64bit, the other with 7 32bit) I have until now hard wired my desktop to the Ethernet ports. I have moved and the desktop is too far away to hard wire. So i bought an edimax EW-7727In wireless pci card for my desktop (i7-930, G-B X58A-UD5). Card installed fine, except I cannot view any networks on the desktop. I place my laptop next to the desktop the laptop picks up my home network as well as numerous other neighbours computers. I have re-booted, I have updated drivers, i have disabled/enabled and i have ran the diagnostic, still no dice. I can see the wireless network icon in lower left of the screen and it has a red cross through

Windows 8.1 - cannot see 5Ghz wifi networks
location:

Recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 8.1 and I cannot see any 5Ghz wireless networks, even though they are present (I am able to successfully see and connect using other devices including a Windows 7 laptop). I can see 2.4 Ghz networks and connect no problem. I have upgraded the wifi driver to the latest Windows 8.1 version for the Intel Wireless-N 7260 card, v16.6.0.8 but no luck. Appreciate any thoughts or pointers.

When I plug my iphone 4 into my PC I get the auto play box appear and I can get into the phone as a device but when I try and open the DCIM folder it's empty (there are something like 600 photos on my phone). I downloaded and iexplorer program from a 3rd
party which I have used but it only lists the files by name and cannot preview or thumbnail the images which is annoying when you only want a couple of specific images. I have plugged my friends iphone into my PC and there are photos in the DCIM folder. Have

Unable to connect to any wireless networks other than my own.

Hello all,
I am having an issue with my Toshiba laptop with Windows 7. When I am at my apartment my computer automatically detects my home wireless network and connects without issue. However, any time I take my laptop somewhere else, like a public hotspot or my network at work, I am prevented from connecting. The adapter finds networks without any problems, but I just can't ever connect to them. When I tried to troubleshoot the problem it said: "none of the networks you have previously connected to are in range." I saw a thread on this forum about a similar problem, and tried the advice that was given (uninstalling the adapter/network, but not the driver, and then rebooting the system), to no avail. I've also tried disabling

Managing WiFi Networks in Win8
location:

While helping a Lounge member in this thread, I wanted to lookup the Manage Wireless Profile tool that had been available in previous versions of Windows. I found that it is no longer supported in Windows 8. That's a shame because for a mobile worker it is sometimes useful to be able to manage the networks on the go.
In the CP and RP versions of Win8, there were a couple of work-arounds published that included making a call to explorer.exe shell:::{1fa9085f-25a2-489b-85d4-86326eedcd87}, but this no longer works in the production release - specifically in the RTM.
So, after a bit of Googling around I found a nice little 3rd party app here. It lists all stored wifi profiles and allows you to manage them, setting priorities, viewing t

Cannot connect to WIFI

I have a brand new Lenovo Ideapad Z585. It has a Broadcom Wireless adapter that will not connect to my home wireless network. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to connect to my Netgear router.
When I run Windows diagnostic tools it tells me that there is a problem with the wireless access point, there isn't I am using another laptop with no issues.
I have done a rescue install and gone through the same problems. This time the diagnostic report tells me I have not chosen a network to connect to despite entering the usual SSID, security type and password details in the network centre.
Networks are detected OK, I click on my network, am asked for the password and weither I wanted to share on the network, click ok and
