Removing Windows XP SP3 on Dual Boot with Windows 7
location:
7forums.com - date:

I Cleaned installed Windows 7 (64bit) to dual boot with my already existing Windows XP SP3 (32bit). Everything is great and life is fantastic!
I'm ready to remove XP now.
Any suggestions on the steps to follow, and remove XP, without screwing up my fast, great and fully working Windows 7.
Thanx.

Dual boot with Windows 7, and XP no longer appears in Boot Manager
location:

Hello,
I have been using windows xp for a long time. I have two actual HD, one partitioned into 4, and another without any partition, giving me a total of 5. I was using two instance of windows xp installed in drive C and another in drive E (both are actually located in just one HD, but the other HD somehow got in between the two)
I finally decided to change the windows xp in drive C into windows 7. After installation, my previous option of choosing between which windows xp to use no longer appears and it goes straight to my new windows 7. I tried these four command :
bcdedit /create {ntldr} /d "Windows XP"
bcdedit /set {ntldr} device partition=E:
bcdedit /set {ntldr} path \ntldr
bcdedit /displayorder {ntldr} /addlast

Hello,
Thanks for any help you can provide. I just bought a new HP laptop with Windows 7 on it and I want to create a dual boot with XP so I can still run ProToolsLE 7.0 for music recording. I read the great tutorial here: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP and I just wanted to get a few things straight before I try to do this (never done this before). Processor is I3-330 and hard drive is 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA drive.
1a. (Do I need to do anything different from Tutorial with a SATA hard drive?)
1. Currently there are 3 drives: C: Local Disk, D: Recovery, E: HP_Tools. I don't want to delete any of these drives; Can I still create a new drive or should I delete everything on the D: drive? Is there a proper way to cleans

Dual Boot with Windows 7 and 8! Windows 7 not working!
location:

Hi everyone. I posted yesterday on my dual booting problem with my partitions but a forum member named gregrocker kindly helped me out throughout the process. Windows 8 worked fine after I installed it and I even signed in and did everything I could on a normal Windows 8 PC. When I booted up my system, I even saw the Windows bootloader menu asking me if I wanted Windows 8 or Windows 7. I picked Windows 8 the first 2 times and it worked fine and then I picked Windows 7 and it launched the HP Automatic Recovery instead of Windows 7. I panicked and I just did I full system restore back to factory condition. Now I can successfully boot into Windows 7 but Windows 8 is gone and the partition that I had created for Windows 8, I just formatted it s

So I got an other setup done with the same parts as the first, for my office. Trying to install two windows 7 again. Here's the exact steps. Open case Unplug all HDD's Plugin HDD 1 Iinstall windows. Boot to see if windows boot, it does! Unplug HDD 1 (Media BCD, DISK E:) Plugin HDD 2 (Normal, DISK C:) Install windows Boot to see if windows boot, it does. Plugin HDD1 Boot to use the one time boot options, both can boot. But HDD 2 (normal) is the default one. Install easybcd to make the boot manager. Easybcd does not see any boot at all, the edit boot window is empty.
Adding a new entry in easybcd does nothing, even if it tells me it was added successfully, I still can't see it in the edit boot menu.
I really don't know what's going on and
