Skype doesn't install on my new windows 8 laptop in metro OR desktop mode

I have a new Windows 8 Toshiba laptop purchased from PC World with Norton. I have tried to run the Skype app but it won't allow me to connect since I got the machine. The app store also no longer works, it just freezes so I can't search for a new version.
I would prefer the desktop version but I can't run the install. I can download the file fine, but as soon as I click and it says to allow the program to make changes. After that it does nothing and nothing comes up whatsoever. I have tried running it in different
compatibility modes but this makes no difference either. I've run the file as an administrator and I've unblocked files pretty much tried everything, but it still doesn't work. When I try to send the report and search for a so

How do I undo easy transfer in my new windows 8?

I recently bought a new tower with windows 8, I have a backup of easy transfer from my Windows 7 computer on my external hard drive. I searched how to do the easy transfer, and it said "go to charms, search easy transfer, and the go from there" I couldn't
get to an easy transfer app any where, so I opened up my external drive and clicked on the easy transfer just to see what it would do, it worked, but then took everything away from my windows 8 start screen, I cannot even "pin" the apps from the search menu
back into it. I am so confused and don't know where to start. Before I easy transferred I installed my Office Suite and those tiles all disappeared as well. My new "desktop"

My new windows 8 ACER aspire v3 series has always had a problem with Integritry test . Bought Dec 3 2012

Integrity test on Bios SFC/scannow reaches 48 to 51% on mine and all new ACER machines in my local shop. All other brands running windows 8 run to 100%. Initially there was a problem with one of the ports not working, this has been fixed by ACER with
no explanation about the fault but the Integrity test still stalls at 48%. Could it be a problem with Microsoft updates?
Have restored to factory setting multiple times, done a cold boot, removed all programs and files including email from the computer done a clean with CCleaner. About to try removing all ACER programs and retest. Is this likely to fix it? If not ,what next?

My computer came with Skype already loaded and I have an account.. all my contacts are there as soon as I went along and answered all the questions... but not their photos.... when I make a video call, nothing happens. I don't hear the ringing... at
the other end, their Skype shows a missed call. They have called and left me a voice message. I have gotten an email from Skype saying I have a voice mail message, but no where on my screen does it show anywhere to pick one up... I am totally lost.. have
allowed Skype to by pass firewall, but still nothing. Any clues to what is missing here? HELP!!

i been read lot post for wi-fi issue of the update 8.1 unfortunately i'm having issues too on connect to any wi-fi out there. i have read and done all most every thing on the forum they recommend. am going crazy trying to figure out how to fix this issue. i started working on the common issue that most ppl have with wi-fi. none of them help me. from there i update my router but no luck. From there i update all my drivers hoping there was some thing i missed but no luck. then i update my bios maybe there was update that need be done once aging no luck. then i went to dell support page update on wi-fi there was. i download the update then it ask me to Uninstall the wi-fi that was on computer so i did and re-install
