Program down loads to 95 percent, than reverts back informing it failed, I have had 3 Microsoft Tec helpers that were unable to solve the problem, I have spent many hrs. on the phone trying to solve the problem, as well as my time trying resolve the problem myself,
I tried many system check which corrected some problems, but not the installation problem, I'm at a point not knowing if Microsoft will call with help.

Where does the Windows 8 Media Center download save?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
October 29, 2013
I purchased, downloaded and installed Media Centre. I'd like to keep a copy of the download to save having to re-download it if I have to reinstall Windows.
Where is the file downloaded to?
The same question applies to the Windows 8.1 Upgrade. I shouldn't have to keep downloading the same files every time I have to reinstall Windows.

Windows 8 Media Center Sound problem
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
February 28, 2013
For no good reason other than being a curious geek I upgraded three perfectly good Windows 7 64 bit machines to windows 8, and put Media Center on all three while the price was cheap. Two of the computers are fine, one has a strange Media Center audio problem. It is a home-built low power HTPC that wasn't running much else besides Windows Media Center. It is connected to a TV via an HDMI cable. I leave the PC with media center running most of the time.
Most of the time (but not always, I can't pin down exactly how to reproduce the problem 100% of the time), when after a day or so of the HTPC sitting I switch the TV from TV mode to using the HDMI input connected to the HTPC, the sound doesn't work. One of the following two workarounds alway

Windows 8 Media center doesn't record the scheduled TV programs.

Original Title: How do I reinstall media center on windows 8 pro?
My WMC has problems. MC runs and will show live TV. The guide seems to stay up to date but scheduled recordings do not record.
I noticed today that a scheduled recording for yesterday is still listed as a scheduled recording for today.
I don't know if these are all the problems my MC has, so I think it best to start from the beginning with MC.
My question is, how do I remove then reinstall WMC?
Regards to all,
James

Question about adding Windows 8 Media Center Pack to my PC
location:
8forums.com - date:
January 25, 2013
I've had my laptop for about a month now and when I first got it I did something (and I don't remember what at the moment) that said I needed to add the media center pack. Anyway, whatever I did said I needed to get a license key for the media pack. Well, Microsoft just emailed me my key today but I don't really know what to do with it. How do I go about installing the media pack so I can enter the key?
