Problem Printing from Windows XP Mode Applications__
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 14, 2009
I am running 64-bit Windows 7, and I successfully installed Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode. I then installed several XP Mode applications that I can access from the Windows 7 Start Menu.
I have an HP printer conected to my PC via USB, and I installed the drivers in both Windows 7 and XP. When I am running in the XP Mode, I "attach" the printer and everything prints OK. When I leave XP to return to WIndows 7, I "release" the printer and I can
then print in Windows 7.
My problem is that when I launch my XP Mode Applications from the Windows 7 Start Menu, I can run the application but I can't print anything from the application. For example, I run an old calendar program in XP Mode, but I can't print

Issues after Window 7 install from Windows XP... Really frustrating problem with no answer, supposedly.
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 11, 2012
Having installed Windows 7, even at the point of setting the timezone during installation where the Country list automatically scrolls to the bottom of the list. The only way to sellect UK was to press and hold Ctrl then sellect. Pressing the shift will
take me back to the previous page and drop down boxes will not stay open gives a flavour of the issues I have.
The system is showing no out of date drivers, ie, they are all up to date
I have changed key board and mouse.
unabled all services to check if it was a particular service, answers no.
So I feel I have exhausted all areas to resolve this issue.
Can anyone, rather there must be someone who has had this problem or knows how to solve it.

Upgrade from Windows XP results in 'digital signature error'.
location:
microsoft.com - date:
November 13, 2012
Downloaded and installed upgrade onto my Windows XP system. Everything proceeded normally until final restart which results in a recovery blue screen that says:
The digital signature for this file couldn't be verified.
file:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Windows.NEW\WINDOWS\system32\winload.exe
Error code:0x0000428
You'll need to use your recovery tools on you installation media
I have ordered but not yet received the Windows 8 DVD.

How to make Canon MPC190 All-in-One work after windows 8 upgrade from windows xp
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 2, 2013
I was using Canon MPC 190 All-In-One for my print/scan work with my windows XP. To use it, we have to use Multipass suite for which I have installation CD. After Windows 8 upgrade, the printer stopped working and not being detected in Multipass toolbar
in viewer as well as settings tabs.
I managed to install USB drivers as well as printer driver for MPC190 from the installation CD but my older multipas toolbar was not detecting the device. I uninstalled the previous version of multipass suite through disk clean-up but now I am stuck. While
installing the multipass suite, the setup is not able to detect the printer port. The found new HW wizard is supposed to apear after the installion starts but its not coming up [instead automatically

SOLUTION: How to fix 'Access Denied' error with Windows 7 shares!!
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 18, 2010
Here's how to fix Windows 7 Network Share Access Denied error!!
I got this error when trying to view Windows 7 files from my Xbox XBMC, Windows XP and other Windows 7 computers.
I had the same user names on my other computers as the main computer and still couldn't access the files. I also had admin rights and setup the control panel's Network & Sharing Center with the options on every other forum. None of that worked for me!
If you've tried every other method like turning password sharing off, file sharing on, etc... try this!
The problem I had was that there were too many users listed under the drive's security tab.
This is not a thoroughly detailed description, but it should get you going if you have some advanced windows

Why is Access Denied to a Registry Key Folder that is preventing me from Installing an Update to One of my Programs Windows 8?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
March 14, 2013
I am trying to install an update to my embroidery software program, and I am getting this error message:
Error: 1402. Could not open key:
UNKNOWN32\5DEmbroidery.Document.1\Shell. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
I am logged in as the Administrator and I am the only profile on my laptop. I am not sure how to reassign privleges to this registry key, as I'm not sure where or how to find it. Can someone walk me through where to find this particular key in the Reigstry,
and then what to do to fix this? Very frustrating.
