location:
7forums.com - date:

I have 5.1 surround sound speakers and a realtek sound card, and when I do the sound test everything is fine, but when I come to play anything, the sound only comes through the front and rear speakers on the right. I have tried alot of things that I found while searching the net but still found no luck. I installed winamp and the sound comes through all speakers but is very bad quality no matter what play.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

IIS 5.1
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
October 30, 2005
Starting IIS brings the current iisstart.asp help page up in the rioght pane, but no table of contents (or index or search capabilities in the left hand pane).
I have checked the indexing and all of the folders are resourced.
the windowshelpiis folders are as virtual folders in the web site structure
all help folders are resourced for indexing
I can search the catalog direct from the management console so I know it is indexed
Any suggestions anyone?
TIA

Sysinternals Process Explorer 15.1 released.
This update of Process Explorer, a Task Manager replacement, adds support for new Windows 8 features by giving the processes hosting immersive applications a distinct highlight color, shows immersive application package names in process tooltips and as a new process view column, lists AppContainer and capability SIDs in the process security properties, and updates the GPU support to be compatible with Windows 8. Other enhancements include GPU memory counters with more descriptive labels, display of the logon session ID on the security properties, and reporting of suspended processes as suspended in the CPU usage column.

Help? Error code 43 with a USB webcam
location:
7forums.com - date:
August 22, 2011
Hi there,
So I've had sudden trouble with my webcam in the last two days, which is kind of irritating because I rely on it a lot. Specifically, when I try to activate my webcam, Windows disables the USB controller its connected to, reporting "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43.)" I've tried the webcam on another computer and had no problems. Disabling/reenabling doesn't do anything, neither does using a different USB port. I've tried the other solutions I've found online, including running the Hardware troubshooter, taking the battery out of my laptop, and unplugging the power for a couple of hours. I've removed the USB controllers, and restarted my computer. My BIOS is most likely up to

XP/Connection Issue (Winxp 5.1 build 2600)
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
February 29, 2004
I am using XP home edition on a Dell 4300 1.8 gig machine. This machine is on a home wired/wireless network and is hard wired to the router.. I use a cable modem (comcast) to connect to the internet. Here is the problem: It seems that this one machine (out of 5) will not connect to some servers. None of the other machines have this problem. After I set up the network everything worked fine. After many months of no problems, when trying to update my virus definitions (Norton AV) I got a responce that I could not connect to the server and the usual advice on making sure I was connected to the internet. All the other computers connect and download fine. Technical support at Symantec was no help. Over the last six months I found that occasio

Problem outputting 5.1 Surround Sound via TV to a Home Cinema System (Override sound supported formats?)
location:
microsoft.com - date:
September 7, 2011
Hi, I am trying to output 5.1 sound to my Home Cinema system via my TV through an optical digital out. So the video card (an Asus EAH5450) is capable of up to 7.1 output, is connected via HDMI to my TV (an LG 47LH5000) which then outputs sound via an optical
digital out to my 5.1 Home Cinema system (an LG HB965TZ). I have an xbox360 connected via HDMI to the TV and the 5.1 sound comes through perfectly to the correct speakers.
The problem I think is that the computer is detecting that it is connected to the TV which tells the PC it has 2 speakers, so the Windows 7 sound configuration menu just displays stereo and dolby digital.
Is there a way to override the automatic detection of what the supported formats are and force the card to

HTPC HDMI 5.1 digital sound pass through TV issue
location:
7forums.com - date:
October 5, 2011
For the past few months, I have been streaming my video content from my HTPC to my PS3, then PS3 to TV using PS3 Media Server. This set up has been working perfectly by connection of HDMI to my TV (Samsung UN55B6000) then optical out of the TV to my receiver. All my connections go to the tv via HDMI and i get at least 5.1 digital surround sound to passthrough.
Well now I got the bright idea to use Windows Media Center (Windows 7) and actually use my HTPC for its full intended use and cut out any transcoding compression. My motherboard has an HDMI built in. (ASRock H67M-itx with sandy bridge i3) When I connect my HDMI to my TV I only get 2.0 sound. I check the settings (Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound
